MXGP of Asia: Overalls and Updated Championship Standings

After being beaten in the second motos last weekend, the championship leaders returned to a perfect double victory score at Semarang. The MXGP podium was once again completed by two Yamahas, with Tonus going 2-3 and Seewer going 3-4. Pauls Jonass dealt with the humidity well in moto 2 to come home second after not finishing the first race.

Jorge Prado looked more comfortable in MX2 this week to notch up another 50 point haul. His teammate Vialle went 2-4 for second overall while Calvin Vlaanderen returned to the podium for the first time in a while, going 5-3. Maxime Renaux impressed for the second week running to grab second in race 2 and just miss the overall podium.

Unsurprisingly, the weekend was once again a tale of low rider numbers and physically testing humidity. A big crash a turn one in MX2 moto 2 took out Thomas Kjaer Olsen and Bas Vaessen. The latter had a very spectacular get-off which resulted in him losing feeling in his legs for four minutes.
