The Australian Nationals series visited Gympie in Queensland for round 6 of the series. The new track on the calendar played host to some great racing.
Todd Waters went 1-2 to take the championship lead leaving Gympie. He was bettered in race 2 by race 1 third place man Kirk Gibbs. The experienced Brett Metcalfe showed he still has the speed as he kept Hayden Mellross and Luke Clout off the podium. Waters now has a 3-point lead over Clout, with Melross, 2 points further behind in third.
Former GP rider Jay Wilson took the honours in the MX2 class after tying on points with championship leader Wilson Todd. Both riders complemented a win with a fifth place and were joined on the podium by Nathan Crawford who went 4-2. Todd now holds a 24-point lead over Kyle Webster with Wilson one point further behind.
