The fourth round of the Swiss championship took place yesterday at Cossonay. In the MX Open class Valentin Guillod showed his class by leading every single lap of both races. Andy Baumgartner’s 3-2 was enough for second overall ahead of championship leader Cyrill Scheiwiller. Baumgartner has now cut Scheiwiller’s lead to 6 points, but neither rider has yet won a race in the series. Due to missing the first round of the series, Guillod sits third, now 16 points off the lead.
Xylian Ramella was another double race winner in MX2. Race one saw him have an early race battle with Loris Freidig and Bryan Boulard before pulling away, while race two saw him get a disaster of a start outside the top-20. Ramella couldn’t be stopped and charged through to the win ahead of Mike Gwerder and Freidig. Boulard’s non-finish in race two sees Freidig take a 5-point lead over him in the championship standings. Robin Scheiben sits third, with Ramella down in twelfth.
In the 125 class, the wins were shared by Remo Schudel and Joel Elsener. The 2-1 score of Schudel gave him the overall and makes him the championship leader, with this being the first 125 round.
