MXGP of Latvia: MXGP&MX2 Overall and Championship Standings

A grand prix with many talking points today in Latvia! Jeffrey Herlings proved what a beast of a rider he is in race one by claiming victory following a bizarre crash on the sighting lap. After being hit by Arminas Jasikonis in that crash it was found after the race that he had broken his ankle – and still won! This obviously meant a none start for race 2. Tony Cairoli, riding with a fever, also impressed in race 1 to grab third, but a high speed crash in race 2 looked to have injured the 9-time world champ as didn’t re-start. What started out as an impressive weekend in the MXGP class for Red Bull KTM quickly turned into disaster. Luckily for them Jorge Prado continued his dominance of the MX2 class largely unabated.
