After grabbing the advantage early on Herlings was soon passed by home rider Pauls Jonass. Herlings regrouped and made his way back past the Latvian who eventually came home sixth. Tim Gajser was sitting in sixth early on before a crash that caused him to have to visit the pits.
Jorge Prado once again rode to victory in MX2. His nearest rival in the championship, Thomas Kjaer Olsen came home as runner-up, with Ben Watson rounding out the top-3.
